I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t all about traveling. Growing up, I longed to be the one to hop onto the ‘big plane’, jetting off for an adventure. Growing up as the youngest in my family, there were many trips to the airport wishing my older brother and sister farewell as they went off on their adventures. Then there were the stories from my cousins, friends and other family about their amazing adventures all over the world. I couldn’t wait for my time to come, for my very own adventure. I felt like the travel bug had bit before I even went on an overseas adventure.
Finally, at the ripe old age of 23, I booked my first ‘big plane’ ticket. My boyfriend and I went on a 5 week long Eurotrip – Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Czech, and Poland. It was everything that I dreamed of for so long, and so much more. I was hooked. Since then we’ve traveled a bit more of the African continent (Swaziland, Mozambique, and Botswana), I went on a work trip to Amsterdam, traveled around Thailand for a month, had a bit of a whirlwind UK adventure taking on London and Edinburgh, spent three weeks being ‘wowed’ by India, and then fell in love with Sri Lanka. There are also many plans in progress for the next adventures.
I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.
